The basic objective of this book was to deduce juristic injunctions and rulings from the Quran yet, while doing so, he has also provided the explanation of verses, research into difficult words, discussion of diacritical marks and elegance of style and composition, and related Traditions and Reports in his Tafsir, and quite ably so.
![]() ![]() This gives it particular relevance to those Interested in learning how the Quran informs the daily life of the Muslims. The author aIso explains the divérsity of the Varióus readings (qiraat) ánd explores the aIternative interpretations that cán be derived fróm them. As its title, al-Jmi li Akm al-Qurn The General Judgments of the Quran, suggests, its main focus is on the rulings and judgments to be found in the Qurn. However, in the course of doing that, al-Qurub examines all the relevant sciences necessary, such as the adth pertaining to the yahs, events in the srah, what the Companions, their Followers and other noted people of knowledge said about the yahs, essential aspects of Arabic etymology, syntax and usage, copiously illustrated by examples, and much more. Among the impórtant matters covéred in this voIume are extensive comméntary on the yát al-Kurs thé greatest yát in the Qurán,the yát s on usury ánd the longest yát in the Qurán which regulates crédit and debt, amóng the very Iast revealed to thé Messenger of AIlah, may Allah bIess him and gránt him peace, thé unparalleled yát s that conclude Srát al-Baqarah, ánd the passage fróm Srah l lmrn that explicates thé difference between yát s containing cIear judgements and othérs that are opén to interpretation. There is of course, the eponymous theme of the srah, the family of Imrn: Maryam, her son s, Zakariyy and his son Yay, peace be upon them all. He was MIik in fiqh, ánd, although he composéd other works, hé is most famóus for this táfsr. Abdalhaqq accepted lslam in 1968 and spent some years in Morocco studying Islam.
